Murrell Garvin

Murrell was born on March 11th, 1922. Murrell's father was Eugene Garvin Sr and his mother was Sarah E Cobb/Hatcher (Garvin). His paternal grandparents were John Garvin and Lula Land; his maternal grandparents were George Cobb and Mary E Hatcher (Cobb). He had three brothers and two sisters, named Winfred, Eugene, Paul, Lucille and Dessie. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died due to Missing in Action - Presumed Dead at the age of 28 on November 28th, 1950 in Korea.¹

General Notes
- Private First Class Garvin was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 28, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
  
  He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
