Catherine was born in 1790 in Monon West Virginia.  Catherine's father was Richard Tennant and her mother was Elizabeth Haught.  Her paternal grandfather was Richard Tennant and her paternal grandmother is Janet Wark. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Peter, Richard II, William, Alexander, Joseph S., Adam, John, Abraham, Jacob Aron, Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret Ann and Sarah Catherine.  She died at the age of 73 in 1863 in Green co.,Pennsylvania.
