William Wilton

William was born in 1819 in North Petherwin, Cornwall, , England. William's father was Richard Wilton and his mother is Mary Greenland. His paternal grandparents were John Wilton and Elizabeth Roberts; his maternal grandfather is Greenland. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Walter Greenland, Thomas, Richard, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Emma. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 87 in 1906 in Eagle, Richland, Wisconsin, USA.¹
