Cecil George's father was George Hiram Kerr and his mother was Margaret O'Callaghan.  His paternal grandfather was William Kerr and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Darling; his maternal grandparents are John Dennis O'Callaghan and Mary Ellen. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William "Ted" Edmond, John Dennis Francis, Francis Hilda, Muriel Maude, Eileen Margaret and Catherine Josephine.
