Robert Scott Jay

Robert was born on August 5th, 1852 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Robert's father was William Jay and his mother was Eliza Jane Caylor. His paternal grandparents were William Jay and Ann King. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Emery, William, Catherine, Elizabeth and Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 80 on April 2nd, 1933 in Newkirk, Kay County, Oklahoma.

- Newkirk, OK is in Kay County Oklahoma about 88 miles South and West of Howard, Kansas on HWY 77.

General Notes
- Oklahoma became a State in 1907. Robert Scott moved to Newkirk, Kay County, sometime in early 1900s probably. At that time it was Osage Indian territory. It is reported by Louvina Anderson in 1999 that his younger brother William Jay joined him in Oklahoma for a brief time until there was an incident with some indians at which time William Jay returned to Elk County, Kansas. Newkirk, Oklahoma is approximately 88 miles from Howard, Kansas.
