Anna was born on May 12th, 1680 in Gotha.  Anna's father was Christoph Schwabhaeuser and her mother was Anna Eckardt.  Her paternal grandparents were Andreas Schwabhaeuser and Anna Elisabeth Eckardt; her maternal grandparents were Peter Eckardt and Anna Nuernberg. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Johann, Johann, Maria, Anna and Martha.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
