Moses was born in 1798 in Gallia, Gallia, Ohio.  Moses' father was John MCCARLEY and his mother was Martha CARR.  His paternal grandfather was MCCARLEY; his maternal grandparents are Robert CARR and Sarah Jane SHIELDS. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named William, John, Samuel, John, Samuel, Elizabeth, Jane, Margaret, Zibiah, Zebiah, Elizabeth, Margaret and Zebiah.  He died at the age of 53 on April 5th, 1851 in Gallia, Gallia, Ohio.  His burial was in Mc Carley Cem, Gallia Co, Oh.
