Maria was born about 1206 in Of, Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey.  Maria's father was Theodoros I, Emperor Of The BYZANTINE EMPIRE AND NICEA and her mother was Anna Komnene Angelina, Princess Of The BYZANTINE EMPIRE.  Her paternal grandparents are Manolis LASKARIS and Ioanna KARATZAINA (PHOKAINA). She had two brothers and two sisters, named Nikolaos, Ioannis, Irini Dukaina and Eudoxia.  She died in 1270.  Her burial was in Esztergom, K-Eszt, Hungary.
