Hugh was born about 1152 in Of Ryhale, Rutland, England.  Hugh's father is Thurston Le DESPENCER and his mother is Mrs-Thurston Le DESPENCER.  His paternal grandparents are William Talvas MONTGOMERY DESPENCER and Alix Ala De BURGUNDY. He had four brothers named Walter, Almaric, Galfridus (Geoffrey) Le and Thomas.  He died in 1199.
