Mary was born in year 1758 in Suffolk, Barrow and was baptised on January 5th, 1758. Mary's father was William Death and her mother was Ann Bird. Her maternal grandparents were William Bird and Ann. She was the fourth of five children. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Ann, Elizabeth and Elizabeth.
