Zelma  was born on August 1st, 1919.  Zelma 's father was Miķelis Bezmers and her mother was Ilze Ertmane Bezmera.  Her paternal grandparents were Jānis Bezmers and Līze Bezmera (Petrēvica). She had five brothers and two sisters, named Ādolfs, Kārlis, Jānis, Andrejs, Eduards, Anna and Alma.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died due to a childhood disease at just 14 days old on August 15th, 1919 in Grobiņa.  The funeral took place in Grobiņas pagasta Limbiķu kapsētā.  Her body was entombed in Grobiņas pagasta Limbiķu kapsētā.
