Piroska's father was Károly Tatár and her mother was Janka Nagy. Her maternal grandparents were Árpád Gusztáv Pál Nagy and Janka/Johanna Angenbauer. She had a sister named Vali. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 101 in 2015.
