Károly was born on November 14th, 1884 in Alsószelestye and his baptism took place on November 14th, 1884 in Nagyölbő Vas vm.1 2  Károly's father was András Asbóth and his mother was Ágnes Jancsó.  His paternal grandparents were József Asbóth and Katalin Kovács. He had three brothers and three sisters, named István, János, Endre, Mária, Etelka and Gizella.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died from cancer at the age of 78 on February 7th, 1963 in Zalaegerszeg.3
