Julianna's father was István Asbóth and her mother was Julianna Hercegh.  Her paternal grandparents were János Asbóth and Erzsébet Ballabás. She had three brothers and two sisters, named József, István, István, Mária and Lídia.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
