Albert was born in 1815 in Martonvásár and his baptism took place there.1 2  Albert's father was Gottfried Asbóth and his mother was Lujza Schweighardt.  His paternal grandparents were János Gottfrid Asbóth and Judita Krueg. He had eleven brothers and four sisters, named Henrik, Sándor, Gusztáv, Albert, Asbóth, Ede, József, Gottfried, Ilona, Vilmos, Lajos, Ludmilla, Sarolta, Lujza and Henrietta.  He was the eighth youngest of the sixteen children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ottó and Paulina.  He died at the age of 48 on October 18th, 1863 in Brassó.1
