Ir Hendartyo was born on January 26th, 1955.  Ir Hendartyo's father is Drs Muhammad Subroto Kusumobroto MEd and his mother is RA Endang Sutapi Kusumodadari.  His paternal grandparents were R Mustotpo Pringgohardjo and Sujati. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Bob Susilo SKM, Ir Tjahjo, Slamet Rahardjo, Riko Rahmadi, Ir Laksmi Palupi, Hedi and Tri Astuti.  He is the third oldest of the eight children.
