Ir Budi was born on September 26th, 1958.  Ir Budi's father was Sri Murtini and his mother is R Ngabehi Suharto Hardjowarsono.  His paternal grandparents were R Mustotpo Pringgohardjo and Sujati. He had six brothers and a sister, named Hartono, Dra Hj Sri Suharmini, Retno Purnomo Pudyastuti Bsc, Ir Tanto Djoko Santoso SpI, Sri Hartati, Ir Drs Adi Hardono and Hj Endang Susilowati.  He is the youngest of the eight children.
