Jacobus was born on January 11th, 1904. Jacobus' father was Hendrik Willem Laman and his mother was Susanna Jacoba Valintgoed. His maternal grandparents were Jacobus Valintgoed and Susanna Collet. He had a brother and a sister, named Gijsbert Johannes and Johanna Catharina Louisa. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 46 on September 13th, 1950.
