Francisco was born on January 2nd, 1915 in San Martin - Buenos Aires.  Francisco's father was Francisco Domingo Eugenio Poletti and his mother was Angela Gayetana Lauria.  His paternal grandparents were Juan Bautista Poletti and Martina Barindelli; his maternal grandparents were Mariano Lauria and Carolina Coradino. He had four brothers and a sister, named Juan, Antonio, Francisco, Ricardo and Martina.  He was the second youngest of the six children.
