Magdalena was born on October 8th, 1713 in Bilbao - Deusto.  Magdalena's father was Joan Leguina (Gallarza) and her mother was Concepcion Castillo (Zenagorta).  Her paternal grandparents were Pedro Leguina (Amarika) and Cathalina Gallarza (Cegama). She had two brothers and three sisters, named Pedro, Antonio, Manuela, Angela and Maria.  She was the youngest of the six children.
