Magdalena was born on December 19th, 1672 in Arrancudiaga.  Magdalena's father was Santiago Goicohechea (Uribarri) and her mother was Francisca Belaunca (Agirre).  Her paternal grandparents were Jhoan Goicohechea (Echebarria) and Maria Uribarri (Eguiondo). She had four brothers and a sister, named Juan, Domingo, Santiago, Santiago and Magdalena.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
