William was born in 1757.  William's father was Charles Christian Jr.  and his mother was Mary Leake (Christian).  His paternal grandparents were Charles Christian Snr. and Elizabeth Hunt (Christian). He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, 2nd LT Elijah, Charles, The Ghost, The Shadow, Walter, George, Elizabeth, Mary, Judith and Mourning.  He was the nineth oldest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Lucy and Judith.  He died at the age of 71 in 1828.
