Joel was born in 1710.  Joel's father was James Christian and his mother was Anne Macon (Christian).  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Christian Snr.  "THE IMMIGRANT" and Eleanor Kewly ? (Christian). He had four brothers and a sister, named Richard, William, James Christian, Gideon and Judith.  He is the second oldest of the six children.
