William Robert was born in 1827 in Richmond, N Yorkshire.  William Robert's father was Samuel Robinson and his mother was Frances Walker.  His paternal grandfather is Thomas Robinson. He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Thomas.  He died at the age of 61 in 1888 in Grinton, Yorkshire.
