Herbert Appleby

Herbert was born in 1879 in Holtby, N Yorkshire. Herbert's father was Thompson Appleby and his mother was Ann Mould. His paternal grandparents were William Appleby and Mary Howe. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John William, Thos, Thompson, Henry, Fredrick, Frank, Lavinia and Minnie. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.
