His paternal grandparents were Albert Fredrick Tacker and Mary Francis Turner; his maternal grandparents were Tom Reeves and Winneford Wilson. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Lewis Chester, John T "JT", Albert F, Mary Francis, Lula Mae, Sarah Juanita and Blanche L. He is the oldest of the eight children.-
