Notes for WILLIAM SCOTT LAND: April 7th 1883. Fossgate, Grosvenor Terrace, Bootham, and Clarence Street, York, Business Premises & Freehold Property for sale to be sold by Auction by Messrs. Acton & Acton at the White Swan Inn, Goodramgate on Tuesday, 17th April, l883 at 5 for 6 o'clock in the evening, Lot 1: A freehold dwelling house and shop being No 25, Fossgate, in the City of York with the bakery therunto belonging on which the business of a Baker, Confectioner and Provision Dealer have been successfully carried on by the present owner, Mr. W. S. Land and his predecessors for upwards of 50 years. The property has recently been rebuilt and the Bakery which contains 2 large ovens with 4 chambers above, thoroughly re-constructed, and there is every appliance on the premises for a purchaser carrying on an extensive business. Lot 2: A cottage and stable behind Lot 1 situate in Strakers Passage. Lot 3: A freehold dwelling house with requisite outbuilding situate in Grosvenor Terrace, Bootham. The house comprises 2 sitting rooms, kitchen and 3 bedrooms and is very pleasantly situate. Lot 4: Freehold dwelling house with requisite outbuildings being 61, Clarence Street, York. The house comprises front and back sitting rooms, kitchen, and 3 bedrooms. Immediate possession of the respective Lots can be given. Lot 5: A policy of assurance for securing £200 effected with the Scottish Provident Institution on the life of a person now aged 47. This Policy is on the 14 year scale and all payments have been made thereon.
