John Birch Land

John Birch was born about 1826 in YORK North Yorkshire England. John Birch's father is William Land and his mother is Elizabeth Birch. His paternal grandparents are William Land and Julia Scott. He has five brothers and a sister, named Robert, George Tasker, Charles, William Scot, Frederick William and Margaret. He is the third oldest of the seven children.

  25.2.1841. John Birch Land son of William Land of the City of York, combmaker
  apprentice to William Haxby of the same city, Whitesmith for seven years by Indenture, dated 1st February inst.

  No.2 Belle Vue Street, Heslington Road, excellent rosewood sitting room furniture bedroom effects and kitchen utensils. Mr. James Walker begs most respectfully to announce that he has received instructions from Mr. J. B. Land (in consequence of him leaving York) to sell by auction without reserve, on Tuesday next the 6th July 1858 upon the premises, No 2, Belle Vue Street all the good and useful household furniture, sleeping room requisites, culinary utensils etc. etc. Also a capital Sea Chest very complete with zinc furniture, slides, etc. (Weighton maker, Woolwich). sailors hammock, etc.,etc. For particulars see bills in circulation.
