William Petty

William was born in 1888 in Langcliffe, Yorkshire, England.¹ William's father was John Petty and his mother was Annie (Petty). His paternal grandparents were Stephen Petty and Isabella Peacock. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Philip John, James Edgar, Frederick H, Reginald, Elizabeth and Isabel. He was the oldest of the seven children.
