Berengaria was born about 1179.  Berengaria's father was King Alfonso The 8. (The one of The Naves) of The Castilian House of Burgundy and her mother was Queen Consort Eleanor of House Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were King Sancho The 3. of The Castilian House of Burgundy and Queen Consort Blanca of House Jiménez; her maternal grandparents were King Henry The 2. (Henry Curtmantle, Henry FitzEmpress) of House Plantagenet and Queen Consort Eleanor of House Ramnulfids. She had a brother and two sisters, named Henry The 1., Urraca and Blance of Castile.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died on November 8th, 1246.
