Louise was born on March 9th, 1756.  Louise's father was Prince John August of House Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and her mother was Luise.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke Frederick The 2. of House Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and Princess Magdalena Augusta of House Ascania.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 51 on January 1st, 1808.
