William The 2., known as William Rufus, was born about 1056.  William Rufus' father was King William (The Conqueror) of House Normandy and his mother was Queen Consort Mathilda.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert (The Magnificent) of House Normandy and Lady Herleva; his maternal grandparents were Count Baldwin The 5. of House Flanders and Countess Adela (The Holy and Adela of Messines) of House Capet. He had a brother and a sister, named Henry Beauclerc and Adela.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died on August 2nd, 1100.
