Mara's father was Jeron Melcom and her mother was Hemona Melcom (neé Swyft).  Her paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Tommard Swyft and Falyse Swyft (neé Reyne). She had two brothers named Janden and Deros. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Baran, Dorik and Rolessa.
