Henry was born about August 1840 in Bolton, Lancashire, England.¹

Henry's father was Henry HIGSON and his mother was Jane Booth. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Higson and Esther Unknown. He had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Aaron, Moses, Levi, Reuben, Esther, Hannah and Sarah. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children. He died on May 11th, 1872.
