George was born on December 18th, 1706.  George's father was Richard Higson and his mother was Mary Pendlebury.  His paternal grandparents were Giles Higson and Anna Farneworth. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Giles, John, Margareta, Mary, Alice and Sarah.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
