Margret was born about 1849 in Ugglebarnby, Yorkshire.1   Margret's father was Joseph Readman and her mother was Anne.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Robert, John, Mary and Rebecca.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
