Jonty was born on November 29th, 1946.  Jonty's father was Thomas (E) Gye and his mother was Margaret (Peggy) Welch.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Edward Gye and Lucretia Ethel Redstone.  He was the oldest of two children.  He had a brother named Timothy.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia at the age of 55 in 2001.
