Felip was born on August 5th, 1875 in El Palau d'Anglesola (Pla d'Urgell). Lleida. Catalunya. and his baptism took place on August 6th, 1875 at El Palau d'Anglesola (Pla d'Urgell). Lleida. Catalunya. Església de Sant Joan Baptista conducted by Dean Francisco Solà.  His godfathers were Felip Pou (avi), pagès d'El Palu and his godmother was Madrona Torres (àvia) de Fondarella.  Felip's father was Ramon Fontanet Torres and his mother was Rosa Pou Golim.  His paternal grandparents were Pere Fontanet Ivañes and Madrona Torres Reñer; his maternal grandparents were Felip Pou Yyyy and Dominga Golim Yyyy. He had two sisters named M. del Carme and Modesta.  He was the oldest of the three children.
