Johann George Reitenauer (Ritenour, Ridenour, Ridnour )

Johann was born on August 17th, 1780 and his baptism took place on October 15th, 1780 in Evangelical Lutheran Church (German Reformed) of Frederick County, Maryland, USA.¹ His godfather was Johannes Jung. Johann's father was George Reitenauer and his mother was Maria Elizabeth Snyder (Reitenauer, Gallentine). His maternal grandparents were Jacob Schneider and Maria Magdalena Bissinger (Schneider). He had two brothers named Adam and Johannes. He was the second oldest of the three known children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacob, Joseph, Abraham, Daniel and Elizabeth.¹

General Notes
- Note; Ludwig Snyder sold land to John Sechman, whi was George Ritenour's father in law. Also Jacob Schneider's family church records in Germany were involved with baptisms and sponsorship with the Zachmann family, which is probably a different spelling for Sechman and Seghman surname.
