Adela's father was Pablo Martínez (González) and her mother was Aurelia Nieto.  Her paternal grandparents were Román Martínez (González) and Petra González (De Frutos).  She is the oldest of six children.  She has three brothers and two sisters, named Jose María, Emiliano, Atilano, Antonia and Ana María.
