Philip's father is Masilamani and his mother is Alangaram/Ubagaram.  His paternal grandparents are Savariappan and Chinnammal. He has two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, <Unknown>, Alphonsa and Sooaimary.  He is the youngest of the five children.
