Richard was born in 1787.  Richard's father was Henry Bullen and his mother was Anne Searle.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Bullen and Mary Martin. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Edward, James, Ben, Rebecca, Bet and Mercy.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 69 in 1856.
