Klara was born on January 4th, 1816 in Feuchtwangen, Germany.  Klara's father was Nathan Meyer Holzinger and her mother was Perl Guggenheimer.  Her paternal grandparents were Meyer Abraham Holzinger and Anna.  She had four brothers and three sisters, named Jacob Hirsch, Abraham, Jeremias, Samuel, Hannah, Babette and Adelheid.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
