Fila was born in 1777.  Fila's father was David Webster and her mother was Jerusha Berge.  Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan Webster and Dorothy Hills. She had two brothers and three sisters, named David, Justin, Jerusha, Lydia and Polly.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Lot, Alvah, Seymour and Hannah.
