John Washington Metcalf

John was born on July 6th, 1828. John's father was John Hammond Metcalf and his mother was Sarah Webster. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Metcalf and Jane Stearling; his maternal grandparents were Benoni Webster and Sally Metcalfe. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, George, Mark and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 59 on January 5th, 1888.
