Matdila of Scotland was born in 1079.  Matdila of Scotland's father was Malcolm III Canmore King of Scots and her mother was Margaret Atheling (St. Margaret).  Her paternal grandparents were Duncan I (the Gacious) King of Scotland and Aelflaed of Northumbria. She had six brothers and a sister, named Edgar King of Scotland, Alexander I King of Scotland, David I King of Scotland, Edward, Edmund I King of Scotland, Ethered Abbot of Dunkled and Mary. She had three half-brothers named Duncan II King of Scotland, Malcom and Duncan.  She died at the age of 39 in 1118.
