Malcom's father was Malcolm III Canmore King of Scots and his mother was Ingeborg Finnsdottir.  His paternal grandparents were Duncan I (the Gacious) King of Scotland and Aelflaed of Northumbria. He had two brothers named Duncan II King of Scotland and Duncan. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Edgar King of Scotland, Alexander I King of Scotland, David I King of Scotland, Edward, Edmund I King of Scotland, Ethered Abbot of Dunkled, Matdila of Scotland and Mary.  He died in 1094.
