Henry's father was King Henry II and his mother was Eleanor of Aquitaine. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey of Anjou (Plantagenet) and Matilda of Normandy. He had four brothers named King Richard I (Coeur de Lion), King John (Lackand), William and Geoffrey.
