Alfonso was born in 1907.  Alfonso's father was Alfonso XIII King of Spain and his mother was Victoria Eugenia of Battenburg.  His paternal grandparents were Alfonso XII King of Spain and Maria Cristina of Austria. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Juan Count of Barcelona, Jamie Duke of Segovia, Beatriz and Maria Cristina.  He died at the age of 31 in 1938.
