Francois was born in 1735.  Francois' father was Jacques Pierre Leger and his mother was Anne Amirault (Dite Tourangeau.  His paternal grandfather was Jacques (Dit La Rosette) Leger and his paternal grandmother is Anne (Marie) Madeleine Trahan; his maternal grandparents were Francois  Amirault (Dit Tourangeau) and Marie Pitre. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Joseph (Dit Fluzan), Armand, Simon, Jean Baptiste, Jacques, Paul, Pierre (Dit Pierrot), Olivier, Francoise, Elizabeth , Marie, Anne and Marie.
